Independence Day Online (or ID4 Online) is a multiplayer arena space shooter created by Mythic Entertainment. It launched in 2000, and was closed down in 2006 [1]. The only stills and footage of the game that have so far been discovered are official publicity materials.
It was part of the subscription gaming site mothershipgames.com, and required a subscription to play. A free month was given away with the Region 1 Five Star Collection DVD of the movie, and Disc 2 of that set also contained a short trailer for the game[2].
According to Mythic co-founder Mark Jacobs, Independence Day Online was the worst online game the company made during his tenure.[3]
