Rather than having to type out the name of each platform in a game page's infobox, there are a large number of templates you can use instead. Using these templates means machines can be named in a standardised way across the wiki (and universally renamed), and has the significant added benefit of adding the game page to an appropriate category page.

This list of platforms and template names is derived from the platform dataset used by IGDB, with some minor alterations. The list should cover nearly all platforms, including many obscure ones, but if a platform is missing or ambiguous, please leave a message on the talk page.
