Avenger was a flight combat game released by Electra Games in 1975. In the game, players are given a top down view of a jet fighter in a forward scrolling environment with enemies roaming the skies. Points are given for shooting down opposing aircraft, colored white, as well as their distance covered. Players have a button for shooting and a button to engage the plane's afterburner, which accelerates their aircraft. Though the game is black and white, it features an impressive graphical effect of the planes traveling beneath cloud layers in the foreground.
