>>>> 4 New Sonic Team Games!!

The last few weeks the main news story has been huge, from
the AT&T deal, to Bernie's leaving, but I doubt this will
be topped anytime soon...

Sonic Team have announced they are developing a whopping
4 new games! They will reveal one each week of September,
starting on the 3rd, then the 10th, 17th, and 24th. The
first game is highly lightly to be Nights 2, but as to
the other titles...

All games will be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show,
as well as JAMMA, (an Arcade show), which means at least
one of these games might be on the Naomi board. A new
Sonic Fighters perhaps? - Written by Tails

>>>> News Shorts

This week, www.sega-europe.com was re-launched with a
totally new design. Well worth checking out, along with
www.dreamcast-europe.com

Warps D2 has been delayed again, but this time it isn't
anyone's fault. Kenji Eno is sick at the moment, and
unfortantly it's seriously enough to land him in hospital.
Here's hoping he gets better soon.

The arcade version of Dead Or Alive 2 is almost complete.
Then in other arcade news, both Virtua Striker 2 '99
edition and Zombie Zone (House Of The Dead 2 side story)
have hit arcades around New Zealand this week. - Written

>>>> VMU Details With Launch Titles

From a SOA press release comes new details about uses
for your VMU...

O Sonic Adventure:

Watch as Sonic the Hedgehog(tm) speeds onto the Sega
Dreamcast at unprecedented speeds! The VMU extends gameplay
with a special "virtual pet" feature in which gamers can
download characters (AKA "Chao") directly from the game
into their VMU. From there, gamers must nurture, feed and
care for them in order for them engage in head-to-head
"Chao" battles and mini games.

O TrickStyle:

Trickstyle features one mini-game called TrickStyle Jr.
In this game, futuristic hover-boarders attempt to
ride over pickups that increase the length of the
colorful streak of light trailing behind their boards
in the actual game. However, the longer the streak, the
harder gamers find it to traverse the area as their
tail gets in the way. Gamers will then be able to
upload their light streaks into the visually-stunning
Dreamcast game.

O Sega Sports NFL 2K:

The VMU will provide gamers with strategic options they
have never had before for in sports games. Using the VMU,
gamers will be able to surprise their opponent with secret
attacks by allowing them to enter their plays on the VMU's
LCD screen instead of on the television screen where their
opponent could see what they had planned.

O Power Stone:

Power Stone is the first fantasy fighting game to allow
full interactivity with a 3D environment. The game features
eight mysterious new characters with varied fighting
styles. Once gamers have completed Arcade Mode, using
different characters, secret mini-games will be unlocked.
These games can then be downloaded into the VMU. The
mini-games include a mini-airplane shooter and a Vegas-style
slot machine. As gamers play through the mini-games, they
will receive gold coins. These gold coins can be used
to unlock special features including an art gallery mode
and a collection of music and sounds from the game.

O Ready 2 Rumble:

Featuring Michael Buffer, The Voice of Champions, this
hyper-realistic 3D boxing game gives gamers the opportunity
to compete as one of 16 boxers, each with their own
fighting style. Gamers can track their health meter,
punches thrown and the percentage of accuracy on their
VMU which will give them a competitive advantage by
clearing up the gameplay screen and helping them focus
on the action of the game.

>>>> Only Hardcore Sega Fans Need Apply...

SOA Press Release:

If you've got blue paint, blue hair dye, or a large vat of
blueberry jam, baste yourself in it and show up at Sega's
corporate offices in San Francisco on Monday, August 23rd.
The bluer you are the more likely you'll be rewarded for
being the biggest Sega fan on the planet! Extra points are
given to people who really go all out - body paint, hedgehog
spikes, red shoes...as long as it's Sonic-related, you have
a chance to win (we'll even tolerate blue wigs, but dying
is preferred). Besides, what do you have to lose other than
a little hair pigmentation and possibly your day job?

Sonic the Hedgehog will personally pick the winners, based
on creativity and guts, who could be rewarded a Sega
Dreamcast complete with a lifetime supply of Sega games or
cash up to $500! Show us what you got!

WHAT: Sega Diehard Contest
WHERE: Outside Sega's offices in San Francisco
650 Townsend Street (cross street is 8th )
WHEN: Monday, August 23, 1999
TIME: Line-up begins at 10:00 am; Prizes awarded at 12:00 noon
WHY: To show Sega that you are the biggest fan out there
       and to win free stuff!

REMEMBER: You will only be eligible to win a Dreamcast if
          you go BLUE!
