The big names come out to shine this week, as we mention Toejam & Earl 3
in the Sega On The Web page, and new Streets Of Rage and Shinobi games
in the Red Hot Rumors. You can read all about the Shenmue strategy guide
book in the Prima Games Corner, and there's some more cheats to try on
Quake 3 Arena in page 7.
Speaking of Quake 3, it's sitting right behind me now, and I'm just
dying to play it... look out for a full review next issue! This weeks
cover feature is a tale of fun, frustration, and falling over.
Presenting "How Jet Grind Radio Nearly Killed Me..." written by Morphix.
Want to win a Tokyo Gameshow VideoCD? Check out the contest page to
enter today, or for details on how you can win any five Dreamcast games
of your choice in the near future!
Finally, where's the Games Of November feature? Mostly due to the fact
40+ games are hitting the shelves this month, we've decided to put a
weekly roundup in each issue of Dreamcast Weekly Extra instead. Find out
every game coming out, the dates, and prices later this week.
Until next time, Happy Gaming, and if your on Quake 3 and play against
"DCWeekly"... go easy on me ok? :)

>>>> How Jet Grind Radio Nearly Killed Me!
-- Written by Morphix
This story is totally true and I have not exaggerated or embellished at
all. So I give you:
How Jet Grind Radio almost killed me...
Well yesterday after a weekend of battling the flu I decided to pull out
my new copy of Jet Grind Radio and give it a spin. After about an hour I
was up to the part where you have to race the guy with the "Garfield
face" in the Noise Tanks level. Well after missing the last jump about
30 times in a row I got a little annoyed.
Now I am not going to throw a fit or anything, but I told my brother if
I did not beat it this one last time the Dreamcast was going through the
window. So I selected Gram (the one that looks like Snake Eyes from
GIJOE) as he is my fav character, and the race began. As usual I was
whopping arse but when it came to the point that I had to grind around
that big water tower thing I started to get nervous. I missed that jump
the last 30 or so times but I was determined to get it this time.
So I held my breath and jumped, the camera shifted slightly so I
compensated, and bam! I land the jump. Now I don't know if it was the
flu or my overjoyed state but I start to dance around like a fool and
tried to copy Gram's win pose! Big mistake...
If you haven't seen what Gram does during his win pose let me explain. He
kicks one leg back and forth a few times, then extend one leg straight in
front, and the other he leans back on and dose a cool little thing with
his hands (just rent the game and see for yourself!). Well as I was going
for the finish my back foot slips and my right knee pops! It made an
audible popping noise! Suffice it to say I went down like a ton of bricks
while the DC controller (clear blue Millennium version) flies up, and
came down hitting me on the head.
Now I know that does not seem too life threatening but if I would have
fallen a good 5 inches to the right I would have been impaled on a pair
of scissors that were left out from wrapping a birthday present earlier
that morning.
So a day latter I could barley walk due to fact my knee has swollen to
nearly twice it's size, but all I can say it was worth it because Jet
Grind Radio rocks.
Hope you found this little tale amusing (I know my brother was laughing
his arse off). As of right now my knee if feeling 100x better and I am
sure I will be up and around tomorrow to pick up my copy of Shen Mue
and try out the kung fu moves :-) (Oh boy... look out for Part 2 next
week then, "How Shenmue's Kung Fu Moves Almost Killed Me... heh - Tails)

>>>> Rouge Spear Goes 4-Player
Rouge Spear, the sequel to snipering action game, Rainbow Six has
received a four-player death match mode just before it's due for
release, along with eight brand new levels to kill each other on.
"Rogue Spear is an ideal example of our in-house development teams
pushing the boundaries of existing technology to deliver the most
compelling, feature-packed game possible," said David Elmekies,
Director of Game Development for Pipe Dream Interactive. "The four-
player deathmatch component adds an exciting element to an already
robust single-player game, and provides Rogue Spear with virtually
unlimited replay value."
Look out for the Rouge Spear mini-preview in our "Games Of November
2000" Feature later this week (Dreamcast Weekly Extra).
