The Fascination 500 was introduced as a Pong derivative in 1975. It was first offered by National Computer Systems as an upright cabinet before they changed their name to Fascination Ltd. to coincide with the game. The game's unique features included top-mounted controls - unusual for cocktail cabinets - an AI opponent for single player games, the ability to change the game's speed from regular to "tournament" speed, and a handicap mode which could initiate upon one player gaining a significant lead. The product boasted 12 different unique combinations of games which could be adjusted by the operators, though in early models the players had the option to use a button or switch to choose whether or not they would face a computer opponent.
