Mega Man Legends comes to Home Computers[edit]
E3, LOS ANGELES - May 11, 2000 - Capcom® today announced planned to bring Mega Man Legendsä, Capcom's legendary super hero and one of their most successful franchises, to personal computers this fall. Blasting his way into the PC realm, Mega Man Legendstakes the best of action-adventure and role-playing game elements and blends them into Mega Man's most intriguing story ever. In classic Mega Man style, Mega Man Legends features challenging shoot-em-up action, tons of secret items, clever puzzles and huge bosses. Role-playing fans will be swept away by the compelling storyline, characters, devastating weaponry, and beautifully texture-mapped graphics. Mega Man Legends is an exact translation of the blockbuster PlayStation game of the same name. The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rates this game "E" for everyone. "Mega Man Legends is one of those products that transcends all ages," said Todd Thorson, director of marketing, Capcom Entertainment. "We believe the various game elements will appeal to computer gamers, young and old. For more than ten years now, Mega Man has been at the forefront of the video game industry. Players everywhere have literally grown up on Mega Man games. Mega Man Legends is a breakthrough game in the series in terms of style and content." In Mega Man Legends, our 3-D hero is on a quest to save the famous Hidden Legacy treasure. To do this, players must master all the weapons in his explosive arsenal, wage supreme battle with treacherous enemies and face off against unbelievable 3-D bosses. Players explore immense, texture-mapped environments, searching for clues, secret passageways, power-ups, weapons and other surprises. An adjustable 3D camera allows players to capture multiple viewpoints of the action. Intricately fluid animation sequences tie the story together and add depth to the gameplay.
