Mega Man Xtreme Now Available, Metal Walker Coming Soon[edit]
SUNNYVALE, Calif. — January 10, 2001— Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of coin-operated and video games, today announced the release of Mega Man Xtreme for Nintendo’s popular Game Boy® Color System. Mega Man Xtreme, based on the popular Mega Man series, is an action adventure game featuring an all new storyline, two new characters and two new boss characters. In February, Capcom will release Metal Walker, a role-playing game in which players search for an evolutionary metal and thepowers it possess. Mega Man Xtreme and Metal Walker are compatible with both the original Game Boy and Game Boy Color game systems. Mega Man Xtreme and Metal Walker areboth rated ‘E’ (for every age group) by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). In Mega Man Xtreme, the world is in chaos because the mother computer of the hunter base has been hacked. Mega Man Xtreme soon discovers the mysterious boy responsible for the mishap is Techno. In order to restore peace, Mega Man Xtreme must fix the data that went wrong. Mega Man Xtreme boasts the following features: - Original storyline features two new characters Midi (your ally) and Techno (yourfoe) and two new Boss characters. - After finishing all of the stages, different stages are available in the second round. - Auto Save feature allows players to pause the game even while they have powered down their Game Boy system. - Convenient control configuration (Auto-charge, rapid shooting and more) Metal Walker takes place atthe end of the 21st century as an evolutionary metal named “Core” is discovered. Dr. Hawk, a famous scientist, develops Core into a highly advanced robot named Metal Walker. Using the raw power of the Metal Walker, Dr. Hawk travels to Rusted Land, theisland where Core was discovered to learn more about the metal and the powers it possesses. Dr. Hawk soon discovers that the Core metal had evolvedinto Core Unit, a more advanced element. Since his discovery, numerous “Core Hunters” have come to Rusted Land seeking its mysterious powers for their own personal gain. In Metal Walker, players assume the role of Tetto a young man who comes to the Rusted Land with his father but becomes separated when attacked by an evil Metal Buster. Tetto’s main objective is to find his lost father. Metal Walker boasts the following features: - Players can evolve their Metal Walker into various forms by collecting “Core Units. Each form has unique abilities that will assist the player in completing the adventure. - Scan Data Collection – Players can “analyze” enemies to receive “Scan Data.” Players use this “Scan Data” to buy capsules with various effects that can assist players with the adventure. - Base Camp Exchange – Players can create their own “BaseCamp” that establishes theirrobot’s existence. Players can then exchange “Base Camp” data with friends via a link cable. Once the units are linked the two can battle their Metal Walkers against each other. - Auto Save – Allows players to pause the gameeven while they have powered down their Game Boy system.
