SUNNYVALE, Calif. - August 23, 2000 - Capcom® Entertainment today released its highly anticipated fighting game Power Stone 2™ for Sega Dreamcast™ game console. In Power Stone 2, players are once again treated to the revolutionary gameplay that made the original a blockbuster success. The game introduces innovative elements including four-player fighting, multi-tiered progressive levels and a time challenge at the end of a round. Power Stone 2 includes unique levels that feature state-of-the-art graphics in both character and environment design. Power Stone 2 carries a “T” teen rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). It will sell at the suggested retail price of $49.95.

In Power Stone 2, four characters (human or computer) are pitted against each other in beautifully landscaped interactive 3D environments as they battle to collect power stones and free themselves from the clutches of the wicked Dr. Erode. Once any player obtains three stones, they are transformed into a super being who can execute crushing super moves ‘Power Drive’ and ‘Power Fusion’ with the touch of a button.

New enhancements to Power Stone 2 include:

- Four-player fighting and a time challenge at the end of a round.

- Interactive levels introduce progressive gameplay! Players advance in continuous linked levels.

- VMU compatible allows players to save items and exchange them by connecting with friends.

- Numerous modes of play for maximum game play value.

- Fully interactive 3D backgrounds allow players to pick up and use weapons against their opponent – over 120 items, including 65 weapons, power-ups, vehicles and more

- Four playable vehicles (skateboard, fort, tank or airplane) characters can utilize to inflict powerful attacks on opponents.

- Characters are now able to run up a wall as both a defensive and offensive maneuver to execute attacks on their helpless enemy.

- Battle each other or combine attacks to combat monstrous bosses.

- Eight original characters, four new characters, and two bosses.

Power Stone 2 furthers one of Capcom’s most innovative designs. Utilizing the immense power of Sega’s new Naomi board, Power Stone 2 provides players with highly advanced graphics and delivers fast action and instinctive game control. Power Stone 2 challenges players to not only defeat three other players or computer opponents in an all out slug-fest but also to complete secondary goals like racing to the top of a complex obstacle course with a limited amount of time.

Power Stone 2 features the return of all of the mysterious characters from the original plus the introduction of four new characters. Falcon is a gentleman from England who specializes in boxing. Ryoma is a Samurai from Japan who fights with a Samurai sword. Wang Tang is a Chinese martial artist with lightening-fast moves. Jack, modeled
after the infamous ‘Jack the Ripper’, is a murderer from England wielding a knife. Gunrock is a gigantic fighter from Brazil who works in a coal mine and relies on his awesome strength. Galuda is an Indian from Western America and a master of wrestling holds and attacks. Ayame is a headstrong woman from a powerful ninja family in Japan who uses acrobatic skills to defeat opponents. Rouge is a fortuneteller from Arabia who uses magical powers to control fire to destroy an enemy.

Power Stone 2’s four new characters are sure to become popular favorites. Pete is short but uses his small body and quickness to dodge opponents’ attacks. Julia hides an extreme personality behind her tender and elegant face as she flies gracefully with her umbrella and attacks from the air. Gourmand is a kitchen chef with the longest reach of all the fighters thanks to his knife and frying pan. Accel can shoot opponents in a distance utilizing a wall or pole.

Power Stone 2 is set in the 19th century, a Romantic era. Superstitions and legends are alive and well. A mysterious floating castle emerges with a ground-shaking roar and its huge shadow covers the entire world. Themaster of the castle is the evil Dr. Erode who has captured all of the Power Stone fighters for unknown reasons. What is Dr. Erode’s diabolical plan? In Power Stone 2, a new adventure is about to begin...
