US Patent 3,793,483 was a video game technology patent for Atari Inc. filed by Nolan Bushnell in 1972. It is titled Video Image Positioning Control System for Amusement Device and relates to some of the fundamental technology used to display graphics for video games used by Atari. The company would use this patent as a legal deterrent against other companies seeking to create video games using the Atari method and stamp it on many of their products.
