First up, thanks to everyone who e-mailed me about Christmas NiGHTS.
An extra thanks goes to Sega's Swedish site, http://www.dreamcast.nu
who have posted off Christmas NiGHTS.

Now here we are at the end of April. Yes it's that time of the year
again when everything is building up to the E3 show, and I lost count
of how many times the show was mentioned in this issue.

This week's issue contains Sega Puzzles, news on Sonic Shuffle, a brand
new Sonic title, rumors of Sonic Adventure 2, details on Virtual On 2, a
new Prima Book titled Lara Croft: The Art Of Visual Seduction, Q&A on
Dreamcast 2, Streets Of Rage, NFL 2K1, Sega Swirl, and more. Phew! Oh
and Power Stone 2, the Dreamcast LAN adapter, cheats for MDK 2, and
Warp's next Dreamcast title are also mentioned.

Finally, if you do enjoy Dreamcast Weekly, have some extra time, and
would like to help support us, please visit http://www.PrimaGames.com
Thanks!

Until next week then when we look at all the titles coming out in May,
Happy Gaming, and remember... The Game Is Never Over!

>>>> Sonic Shuffle

Last week we posted a rumor about a Sonic game featuring mini-games ala
Mario Party... well this week it was confirmed by a feature in the June
EGM Magazine.

"Sonic Shuffle" (once named "Sonic Square") is due out this fall in
America, and will include full network support. Best of all however is
there is no lag, and Sega seem very confident on that piece of news.
According to them, players won't be able to tell if they are playing
against their friends sitting right next to them, or gamers on the other
side of the country.

But about the gameplay it's self, the title features around 50 mini-
games starring Sonic, his friends, and a few new pals. The story goes
that an evil void has gained the power of special crystals called
Precioustones, and it's up to you to get the stones back before the
void grows. Why it isn't Robitnik and the Chaos Emeralds is beyond me,
but perhaps it will make a nice change to the Sonic universe.

To get the Precioustones back, you have to complete a certain number of
the 50 different mini-games. Selecting which one you play is all done in
board game style maps. Depending on which space you step on, your
transported into a mini-game. I assume when you reach the end of the
board, the Precioustone is yours, and it's onto another level, but
details like that will be revealed at the E3.

The graphics also take a step away from the usual Sonic style, using
a technique called "Celshading". Also used in Jet Set Radio (Jet Grind
Radio for the English versions), it draws black lines around polygons,
giving everything a very cartoonish look. The style seems perfect for
this type of game, but you'll have the chance to see the screen shots
for yourself when E3 time comes along. The game will be featured heavily
at Sega's booth.

>>>> Super Warped!

Warp, famous for their "D" thriller / adventure games, are going to
make a big announcement before the E3 show, on May 9th. As Sega X has
reported, they are planning to change their name to "Super Warp" and
work on the following...

An online music service, Goodvibes.

Dreamap DVD game (Dreamap eh? Possibly for the rumored Dreamcast DVD
addon?)

Hotcakes network service (Mmmm... hotcakes)

And finally an online Dreamcast title, "@tack".

>>>> Virtual On 2 Hitting American Shores This Summer

THE 3D robot combat game from Sega is coming to American shores this
summer, and as many gamers know, it's thanks to Activision. While it's
all but certain it won't contain online play, the game will feature
horizontal and vertical split screen modes for multiplayer battles.

For the real Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram fans, the game will be fully
compatible with the import Twin Stick, only sold in Japan. However
prices for the sticks at the moment have reached $150 on Ebay, making
it seriously only for the real hardcore fans.

"We are proud to have been selected as Sega Enterprises Limited's
third-party publisher for 'Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram' and look
forward to bringing the successful 'Virtual On' property to North
America," said Mitch Lasky, executive vice president, Activision
Studios. "This pixel-by-pixel perfect port of the successful arcade
franchise will provide hard core gamers with an unprecedented
third-person combat game."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to the rumors section of Dreamcast Weekly, each week we'll keep
you up to-date with the latest rumors going around.
>>>> No Sonic Adventure 2 at E3?
Rumors have begun this week that Sega won't be showing Sonic Adventure
2 at the E3 show. The first screens of the game was set to be revealed
in the June issue of EGM, which is hitting the stands this week. But at
the last moment, Sega asked them to pull the feature out, as it wasn't
the right time to reveal Sonic's sequel.
Perhaps they are waiting for the E3? Perhaps they are worried the game
won't attract enough attention with all the new games being revealed
this month? Who knows, but what I do know is that Sega told EGM they
will be the first magazine to show Sonic Adventure 2. Which sounds like
the title won't be shown until it appears in a future issue.
include "Q&A" some where in the Subject. We regret we're unable to
personally reply to each e-mail, but the best questions will be selected
weekly and printed here.
>>>> Football Fever
Q) When is NFL 2K1 expected and will there be any other competitors with
   other realistic football games for the dreamcast system?
A) NFL 2K1 is due out this fall, just in time for SegaNet, Sega's online
   network. But at the moment unless EA have a change in heart, there
   isn't any other football sims on the way.
>>>> Why Do You Ask? ... No Reason
Q) I was just wondering if you could play copied dreamcast games on your
   dreamcast console. - David
A) No you can't copy Dreamcast games, they use a special 1GB CD.
>>>> Less Of The Cover Stories?
Q) I, and probably countless others would like to see less of the "cover
   story", and more previews/red hot rumors. This would make the magazine
   less boring (not that it's boring now, but I think a few more/larger
   snippets of information would do nicely) - Loek
A) What do you think? If your for or against the idea please send me an
   e-mail with "Magazine Suggestion" as the subject.
>>>> Dreamcast 2
Q) Hiya! I think ur web site and your newsletter keeps "thinking" like
   dreamcast does I have Two questions though.
   1. I read in EGM a few months ago the possible plans for the DC2 with
	DVD drive with the Videologic graphics chip. Is it coming soon?
      And will there be an upgrade for the videologic graphics chip for
      the original DC?
   2. I already tried to buy Sonic Adventure three times and all were
      defective. Is it my Dreamcast or I have bad luck?
      - SeyiaStarFighter
A) Thanks :)
   1. Sega are almost certainly working on a Dreamcast 2, but at this
      stage it would be nothing more than toying around with different
      ideas. I wouldn't take any "Dreamcast 2 Specs" seriously until a
      few years from now.
   2. Sounds like real bad luck if your Dreamcast is running other
      games without problems. Try renting a copy from a video store or
      buying Sonic from a different store.
>>>> The Streets Of Rage
Q) I was curious if there are any plans to bring streets of rage to the
   Dreamcast, it is one of my all time favorite game series and I would
   love to see it updated.
A) Many other gamers would love to see the same. Ecco came back from
   the 16-bit generation, why can't Streets Of Rage? Why not let Sega
   know at jwalker@accesspr.com but remember to ask nicely.
>>>> Looking For The PAL Version Of Sega Swirl?
Thanks to many of our readers for sending in e-mails about the PAL
version of Sega Swirl. The game comes free with the Official UK
Dreamcast Magazine Issue #8.
them, we just believe they are the best importer on the web.
>>>> Dreamcast LAN Adapter Shot
>>>> Famitsu Scores
