Trivia[edit]

  • Many sources report the fact that Ulala presented the MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video in 2000 as a promotion for Space Channel 5 and the Dreamcast. This did not happen, though it was widely reported that it would. This was based on a widespread misreading and misreporting of Sega's press release.
The announcement actually said that Ulala would feature in the promotional campaign for the awards: a trailer showcasing nominees in the Best Dance Video category that would be aired fifty times in the run-up to the awards. (Other spots featured different categories.)
This commercial, which would likely have aired in the first week of September 2000 on MTV, has not been found.
